Cart abandonment is the user abandoning their cart without completing a purchase.
This can happen for many different reasons, but one of the main ones would be that they forgot about it or were just browsing or distracted by something else before leaving your store page without finishing their purchase.
The more drastic reason could be because they didn’t want to pay with credit card information stored on your site (most likely if you’re selling physical goods).
Cart Abandonment occurs when customers leave items in the shopping basket while browsing an online store. To avoid this happening, there are various strategies which we will discuss below:
– Offer a better checkout experience.
This means offering payment options with different types of cards, offer secure transactions by using PayPal or Google Checkout, and adding live chat functionality so customers can ask for help when they cannot find something on the site.
– Automate abandoned carts email sequence.
– Connect the Uncanny Automator plugin with FluentCRM. This is to send an automated series of emails through our Woocommerce store’s contact form, to get users back who left their products in the shopping cart before purchasing from your company.
This is how we are running it:
A) We capture all Abandoned Cart eCommerce events with a specific filter created for them. We will use Cartflows Plugin for lead generation.
B) After capturing the Abandoned Cart eCommerce event, we send the abandoned cart customer an automated email through our WooCommerce contact form.
We personalize and customize each email that’s sent out by sending different text templates depending on what product was added to the cart.
C) Connect the Uncanny Automator plugin with FluentCRM to send a personalized series of emails that will get customers back who left their products in the shopping cart before purchasing from your company.
D) Use Google Analytics data to identify which pages have high bounce rates – Make tweaks so that your site is easier to navigate – Offer discounts in the follow-up email.
E) Let customers know what’s coming soon and give them a heads up on special deals.

The first thing you need to do is install and enable the Uncanny Automator plugin on your Woocommerce store, which can be done by following these steps:
– Go to Plugins > Add New > Search for Uncanny Automator
– Install and activate it in a single click from the WordPress Admin area.
Now, you installed the core plugin of Uncanny Automator.
To install the Pro Version of the Uncanny Automator Plugin, follow these steps.
-Go to your dashboard in the Uncanny Automator plugin website and download your pro version as a zipped file.
Uncanny Automator has three plans: a Pro plan for one website, a Business Plan for ten websites, and an Unlimited plan for unlimited websites, as you can see in this photo.
Then we will follow these steps to install your Pro version of the Uncanny Automator.
-Go to plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin > Choose file “choose the zipped file that you just download it in the previous step” > install > Activate.
How To install FluentCRM Plugin on your WordPress Website?
The same concept as Uncanny Automator, FluentCRM has two versions or plugins, the free one you need to install first as it is the core of the plugin but with limited features, and if you need to get all the power of FluentCRM, you need to need to purchase the pro version that you get from here.
As we installed Uncanny Automator, the same steps we will follow for installing both versions of FluentCRM.
How to build our automation for cart abandonment users?
01- Go to your WordPress Dashboard > FluentCRM > Contacts > Tags > Create Tag “Ex: user left a product A in his cart”.
02- Go to your WordPress Dashboard > FluentCRM > Contacts > Lists > Create List “Ex: user left a product A in his cart”.
Note: From the previous two steps, we created a specific tag and list for any user who left product A in his cart without purchase, and you can repeat these for all the products in your store.
03- Go to your WordPress Dashboard > Automator > Add New > Select a recipe type to be Logged-in > Confirm.
04- Select an integration to be Woocommerce > a user adds a product to their cart > choose your product > Save.
05- Add action > Select integration > FluentCRM > Add Tags to the user > Choose the tag that you created earlier for product A in your FluentCRM > Save.
06- Add another action > Select integration > FluentCRM > Add the suer to lists > Choose the list that you created eariler for product A in your FluentCRM > Save.
07- Add another action > Select integration > WordPress > Send an email > Fill in the fields of the email but the most important two things are, the first one is to fill in the BCC field your private email address, this is to be notified when a left a product in his cart and the other one is to add link of the product’s checkout page. This is to help the user come back to the same point he lifts the cart to complete his purchase.
The link would be as follows:
Your checkout page’s link/?wcf-add-to-cart=Product number&wcf-qty=1
Note: I put the qty as I’m selling an online course, so the buyer will purchase one copy only, but in your case, you need to put the proper code.
08- Click save after finishing the email settings and fill in every field required.
09- I prefer to make a delay for sending the previous email by at least 10 or 15 minutes.
10- Don’t forget to name your recipe.
11- You need to make sure that you toggle all the buttons of the triggers and actions from Draft to Live and at the end you make the recipe live. Please check the next photo.
12- From the All recipes tab in Automator, you can choose the previous recipe and duplicate it for all other products in your store, but keep in mind to change the tag and list as per the product name.
Now, you completed creating the recipe successfully in Automator, and now you are ready to create automation in FluentCRM based on the tag and list that applied to the users who left the products in their cart without purchasing them.
By the way, don’t forget to test your recipe from an incognito window to assure everything runs perfectly.
By the way, you can use this method with any type of product in your e-commerce store, either it’s a digital or a physical product.
