1- How to create a product in Woocommerce on WordPress?
Firstly, you need to make sure that you already installed Wocommerce Plugin on your WordPress Website.
After the success of the installation, you find a tab called Products, hover on it, and an option will appear, which is Add New, then Press on it.

A new window will open for creating your product, so you need to fill all the required fields on the product page.
For example, the product name, description of the product, Product type ( Simple product, or a Variable Product, Or a Course) if you installed an LMS system like LearnDash or Lifter LMS).
Also, you have other product types like Simple Subscription, which we are using if you installed a subscription plugin like Woocommerce Subscription.
Then you need to choose the product type is Virtual or not, if it’s a digital product like a course, so you need to mark on the check box beside Virtual.
Also, it would be best if you chose whether your product is downloadable or not. This option is mainly for Virtual products.
Then you need to put the price of the product.
Create or choose a category for your product. After that, you need to add an image for your product.
Then if you have installed the FluentCRM plugin on your website, you can add and remove tags to this product.
Moreover, if you use an SEO plugin like Rank Math, you need to provide a focus keyword related to your product.
It’s recommended to follow all the recommendations by Rank Math SEO to improve your Search Engine Optimization.
If you followed all the above steps, you could easily create a woocommerce store for your brand.
2- Example on how to create a product in Woocomemrce as a course product ( step by step )
Now, let me give you an example. If you are a course creator, I will summarize for you the steps that you need to follow to create your course product in Woocommerce:
A- Install the Woocommerce Plugin.
B- Install the LMS plugin. I recommend installing the LearnDash plugin.
C- Create a course in LearnDash. Please follow the steps in the below photo that tells you how to create a course on wordpress using LearnDash.
D- Add the lectures and contents of your course.
It would be best if you made sure each lecture has a video link. You can add the video link by uploading and hosting your videos on a video streaming service.
For the video streaming service, you can use either Bunny.net or Vimeo as a streaming service.
In addition, you can use a Presto Player plugin as a Video player on your website by inserting the video link to the plugin.
Presto Player will give you many great options like analytics, Tracking…etc. You can read more about Presto Player Plugin from this article.
E- Create a new product and give a name to your product that represents your course.
F- Add a description to your product.
G- Choose the Category of the product, like Accounting, HR, Engineering, and so on.
H- Add an image to your product.
I- Choose the product to be a simple product, but if you are using a subscription plugin, choose the simple subscription option.
J- Remove the checkmark from downloadable, as you don’t want your users to download your course.
K- Put the product’s price, which is your course, don’t put a sale price as we will use Cartflows to manage the sale price.
L- Link your product with the LearnDash course that you created in step number C.
M- If you created groups in LearnDash, you could choose this product linked to which LearnDash group.
N- If you have the FluentCRM plugin, which is the best automation plugin for wordpress, you can now add a tag to your customers whenever they purchase your product.
O- To apply a tag, On the left side of the product data window, you will find a tab FluentCRM. Press on it, and choose which tag you need to apply whenever the user purchases or refunds the product.

3- How to create a coupon for a product in Woocomerce?
In the following steps, we will see together how to create woocommerce coupon in WordPress.
1- Hover to your WordPress Dashboard.
1- From the Marketing tab in your WordPress Dashboard.
3- Choose Coupons. A new window will open; select Add coupon.
4- Choose a name for your coupon code.
5- You can add a description to your coupon to memorize what you created for this product and how much its discount is.
6- From the General tab, choose the discount type. Let us say you have three products A, B, and C.
7- Put the amount of the coupon based on its type.
8- From the restrictions tab, choose the products that are linked to the coupon code.
9- After completing everything, press publish.
Note: The customer may purchase the three products together at one time, so there are multiple scenarios to apply the discount during the checkout process as follows:
4- How to use a Woocommerce Percentage Discount Coupon?
We use it when we need to discount as a percentage to one or all the products in the cart.
You need to write in the field coupon amount the percentage as a number.
If you like this discount applied only for one product or multiple products, you need to choose from the tab usage restrictions which product will benefit from this percentage discount.
This is regardless the customer purchases one product or multiple products.
So, if you sell three products A, B, and C, their prices are 50, 80, and 70 USD, respectively.
You need to apply 40% as a percentage discount on Product B only. So if the customer purchases all three products, he will pay in his checkout 50+(40%*80)+70= $152.
Now, let us see the second option of Coupon types.
5- How to use a Woocommerce Fixed Cart Discount Coupon?
We use it when we need to give a dollar discount as an amount, not a percentage.
And you need to write in the field coupon amount a number that represents the discount in dollars.
If you like this discount applied only for one product or multiple products, you need to choose from the tab usage restrictions which product will benefit from this Fixed Cart Discount discount.
This is regardless the customer purchases one product or multiple products.
So, if your products’ prices are 50, 80, 70 USD, you need to apply only $30 as a fixed cart discount. If the customer purchases all three products, he will pay in his checkout (50+80+70)-30= $170.
So, if you sell three products A, B, and C, their prices are 50, 80, and 70 USD, respectively.
You need to apply $30 as a fixed cart discount on Product B only. So if the customer purchases all three products, he will pay in his checkout 50+(80-30)+70= $170.
You need to follow the same concept with all other types of coupon discounts.
After creating any discount, you need to test it by yourself before releasing it to your customers.
5- How to Create a Coupon Link in Woocommerce Using Cartflows?
Now we will come to the final step to link your discount coupon with Cartflows or use a cartflows coupon code.
As you know, Cartflows can help you to create a landing page, Checkout page, Upsell, Downsell, Optin Page, and Thank you page.
So after creating your funnel, you get a link for any of your pages, so let us say your checkout page’s link will be as follows:
https://mywebsite.com/best-product-checkout
You need to apply a coupon directly to this link, so whenever anybody uses this link, the coupon will be applied automatically.
This is a good option in case you don’t want the coupon code to be spread.
So, let us say the coupon code that you created is Happy21.
In this case, your discount link will be:
https://mywebsite.com/best-product-checkout/?coupon=Happy21
That means, whenever you need to apply automatically to a specific link, only you need to add this shortcode to the link.
?coupon=X
Where X is the name of your coupon code.
6- Bonus Ideas
Bonus No. 1 (use link shortener):
You can use a link shortener to hide your coupon link. That means you will use the link shortener plugin to insert your original URL that includes the coupon code, and it will generate for you a new short URL as per your needs.
I prefer to use the Pretty Links plugin, which already has a free version that can do the task, but the pro version will give you more options.
Please follow the steps in the next photos that tell you how to create a short link using the Pretty Links plugin.
Bonus No. 2 (Cart abandonment Recovery):
You can run automation using Uncanny Automator, or FluentCRM, with the help of Woocommerce Cart Abandonment Recovery plugins.
So, whenever the user puts a product in his cart and didn’t purchase it, you can send him a sequence of emails that include a link with a discount coupon to motivate him to completes the checkout process.
